Larnaca has probably the most beautiful promenade in Cyprus. The city was built on the ancient city of Kition. Over the years three interesting archaeological districts were foand and many antique pieces have gone to the archaeological museum.

Worth seeing are the Ayios Lazaros church and the Aquaduct, an important water pipeline, what was established by the Turks in 1745.
