 Polis
Polis is a little village 37 km north of Pafos. Tourism is still in its
early stages. The village centre has a small pedestrian area with some
shops and restaurants and tavernas. In the tourist area, Latchi, west of
Polis, one can find outstanding fish taverns and a few hotels, apartments
and villas.
The Akamas peninsula is very popular for hiking and in some areas only
drivable by four-wheel drive vehicles. The coast has a breath taking
beauty and at the “Bath of Aphrodite” according to legend, Aphrodite,
goddess of love and beauty, took her bath in the grotto overshadowed by
an old fig tree.
